Bubble Lights & Our 7-Foot Bargain Christmas Tree
Our bubble lights are our favorite Christmas tree decorations. We have them in blue, red, yellow, and green, and they’re as mesmerizing to watch as a burning fire or fish swimming in an aquarium. This video shows one of our older bubble lights. We’ve had these for several years and some of them don’t always want to bubble. (Incidentally, sometimes a non-bubbling light can be coaxed to start up again if you shake it vigorously.) There are plenty of the large bubble lights for sale, but I had never seen more of this miniature two and a half inch high size until last year when I found two-color miniature bubble lights advertised online. We purchased several strands, but the new lights are somewhat disappointing because the manufacturers made the liquid in the tubes too dark for the bubbles to show up as well as they do in our older lights.
We just love our new Christmas tree. It is seven feet tall and is amazingly realistic… so much so that if this tree were put next to a real one, it would be almost impossible to tell which one was which without touching the needles. We happened upon this tree by accident at a Home Depot store a couple of days after Christmas last year. All of the Christmas items in the store had drastic price reductions, and all of the artificial Christmas trees were marked at $10… regardless of their original price. This particular tree was in a factory sealed box with a price sticker of $279! How’s that for a bargain?
