The last hoorah of vivid, riotous color. People travel miles and miles just to see what we have here in Maine and the Northeast. Simply breathtaking! I like to go out and find the best leaves to press between pages of books. They last a long time if you use wax paper and press them between two layers of it first. The wax seals them and my grandkids love to look at them and make crafty things with them. Alas, even when preserved this way, they eventually loose their color. But then, there is always next year to look forward to. What a beautiful picture, Shirley. Reminds me to take my camera every trip outdoors. And to get out my winter woolies! Autumn.
