So cute! Do you know what kind of birds these are?

Comment by Shirley:

Hazel, I think they’re phoebes, although I am not absolutely certain of that. We have always had a phoebe nesting on the ledge of a large bow window (above the window and just under the eaves). We usually have two hatchings. This year there were three, and the parent birds of the last hatching looked like phoebes but not exactly because they had a lot of yellow on their feathers. These little guys were two of the three from the last hatching. The third one joined them on the branch later in the day. They looked so tiny and vulnerable to be heading out in the big world.

I’ve just been reading a book about Eleanor Roosevelt and I have been surprised at the wisdom in some of the things she said. This quote is a great example. You have a wonderful blog. I was going to tell you which parts of it I like most but that would be difficult because I like it all! Please keep writing. You are an inspiration to so many of us.

This is probably off topic as per the quote but is about your comment about the baby birds. We also had a later than usual hatching this summer. The birds didn’t leave the nest until almost fall. I think it was even late September before they were finally away. I don’t remember ever having this happen before.

Ooooooo! How cute! I love baby birds! I think the one in front is looking right at your readers! Another good quote too. Thanks for giving me something to smile about this morning.
