“It is easy to love the people far away.
It is not always easy to love those close to us.
It is easier to give a cup of rice to relieve hunger
than to relieve the loneliness and pain
of someone unloved in our own home.
Bring love into your home
for this is where our love for each other must start.”
–Mother Teresa

More people need to think about this. ‘Bring love into your home’ — think about what a difference it would make in the world if we all started to do that! Mother Teresa was a very wise woman — and after having taken a look around this great blog I have to say I think you are too!

This post made me remember that when I was growing up, one of our neighbors was a very well thought-of man in town who was involved in several service organizations. He was one of the important people in town and was very generous to charities. Since I lived just down the road from him I happened to know that this man was absolutely miserable to his own family. To his wife and son and daughter he was mean and stingy, exactly the opposite from his conduct in public. Sometimes I think about him and wonder why that could be and why his public persona never spread into his private life and made him a better and kinder husband and father.

By the way, I enjoy your blog and thank you for all the great effort that I know must go into it. Like you said in a recent post, I’m looking forward to spring too!
